ECVAM: European Center for the Validation of Alternative Methods

ECVAM's main goal, as defined in 1993 by its Scientific Advisory Committee, is to promote the scientific and regulatory acceptance of alternative methods which are of importance to the biosciences and which reduce, refine or replace the use of laboratory animals.

EICCVAM: The Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods

The Committee is composed of representatives from 15 Federal regulatory and research agencies; these agencies generate, use, or provide information from toxicity test methods for risk assessment purposes. The Committee coordinates cross-agency issues relating to development, validation, acceptance, and national/international harmonization of toxicological test methods.

OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development)

The OECD groups 30 member countries sharing a commitment to democratic government and the market economy, best known for its publications and its statistics, its work covers economic and social issues from macroeconomics, to trade, education, development and science and innovation.
